We love highlighting the incredible small businesses that make our community so vibrant. Today, we are bringing you a treat for the furry family members in your life. I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Ariana Koenigsmann, the owner of Luna B’s Dog Bakery.
Based right up the road in Adairsville, Ariana is looking to bridge the gap between Rome, Floyd County, and Cartersville by providing top-tier, healthy treats for our incredibly dog-friendly towns.
Here is everything you need to know about Luna B’s Dog Bakery and what makes them stand out!
The Story Behind the Name
Every great small business has a story, and this one starts with a very special dog. The bakery is named after Ariana’s rescue dog, Luna.
While volunteering at a high-intake county animal shelter in Los Angeles, Ariana met and fell in love with Luna. The business originally launched as “Luna Beach, California Dog Bakery” because Ariana had moved from California to Georgia. However, she eventually dropped “California” from the name to keep the focus on what truly matters: Luna’s inspiring journey from being an owner-surrendered shelter dog to living her absolute best life here in Georgia.

What Sets Luna B’s Apart?
In a growing market with lots of pet treats popping up, Luna B’s stands out because of Ariana’s dedication to safety, compliance, and professional expertise.
- Professional Product Development: Ariana brings nearly 17 years of professional experience in the fashion industry, with a heavy focus on sourcing and product development.
- A Commitment to Safety: She utilizes her background in compliance to ensure her treats are manufactured safely. She works closely with the state of Georgia and the University of Georgia to guarantee her products are properly licensed and tested.
- Health-Conscious Recipes: As a Type 1 Diabetic, offering healthy, low-carb, and low-sugar alternatives is a topic close to Ariana’s heart. She wants pet parents to have peace of mind, knowing her treats won’t make their dogs sick.

Treats, Cakes, and Secret Family Recipes
Luna B’s isn’t just selling your standard dog biscuits; they are selling a full celebration experience for your pets.
- Grain-Free Dog Cakes: A major customer favorite is their dog cakes, which are gluten and grain-free, made from coconut flour instead of wheat.
- The Secret Smoked Jerky: A recent hit is their dog jerky. Made simply with turmeric and black pepper, the real secret is that Ariana’s husband smokes the jerky in their smoker for six hours to lock in the incredible flavor!
- Full Party Packages: Beyond treats, you can purchase complete celebration packages that include fun accessories, hats, and bows.
Before any product makes it to the public, it has to pass the ultimate test: Luna. Luna is incredibly picky, so if a recipe gets her paw of approval, you know it’s a winner.

A Day in the Life of a Dog Baker
Running a niche small business takes immense dedication. While Ariana’s husband helps with the printing, merchandising, and marketing, she handles all of the baking solo.
A typical prep day before an event is an all-day affair. Ariana starts very early in the morning to prep recipes and bake, and works until the last moment at night figuring out her vendor setup and merchandising.
The Future: Georgia’s First Mobile Dog Bakery!
Ariana recently achieved a massive goal she has been saving for over the last three years: she purchased a horse trailer!.
She is currently renovating it with the goal of launching by Fall 2026 as what she believes will be Georgia’s first traveling or mobile dog bakery. This trailer will allow Luna B’s to attend local events, weddings, and offer private shopping experiences tailored with anxious dogs in mind, who get overwhelmed in traditional store settings.
