Great Ideas For Date Night In Rome, Georgia

I thought I would write about some great ideas for a date night in Rome, Georgia, for our anniversary. Dating is crucial for couples, but let me be the first to confess that my husband and I are horrible when finding time to date as a couple. However, I will share a few things we have found to be great for dates.

An Outdoor Event Date

Our first date was out to eat and then to a park. It was an excellent place for a first date. We even took a selfie….before selfies were a thing. I think I took the picture with my pink razor phone. Remember those? More than 12 years later, were are still together and writing this blog.

Make Something For Date Night

I love dates that get us up, moving, and hands-on. Movies are great, but when you are interacting and doing something together, it makes you so much more involved. Crafting is such a great date. Whether it is a pottery class, a paint and sip party, or a woodworking project, working on a project together is a great date idea. It is excellent for a first date or 50 years of dating. It is very hands-on and interactive; you work together on your project and create something. It creates a bond, memories, and something to take home!

Classic Dinner Date Night

Going out to eat is usually a good option for a first date or any date. My husband and I prefer to eat at locally-owned restaurants for dates. We also love to try out new restaurants. We get an experience that is not from a cookie-cutter chain restaurant. We like the personal feel you get when you eat somewhere that takes a personal interest in their customers. I recommend anywhere on Broad Street. Broad Street in downtown Rome has excellent nightlife. Friday and Saturday nights have live music at several locations. The Moon Roof, The Dark Side of the Moon, The Brewhouse, and The Foundry are great places for a drink and live music. I have recently learned that visiting breweries is becoming very popular, and Rome is keeping up with the trend. Rome Brewhouse and The Foundry are great spots to try a local brew.

Game Night Date Night

Rome now has several options for game nights, such as bowling, ax throwing, an escape room, a driving range, tennis, etc. This date night might be more fun with a few other couples. A game night date night would be great for a first date and beyond. It would also be great for a family with older kids and is a great way to get to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, build teamwork, and create a bond.

Learn Something New Date Night

If you are in a long-term relationship, try taking up a new hobby with your date. Take a photography class, an art class, a second language, a cooking class, dance, or Zumba. Try something that you can do and learn together.

Museums and Daytime Dates

Some of our dates are different from the traditional Friday or Saturday nights. We have had Saturday afternoon dates. We took the day off for our anniversary and went to a museum one year. Explore The Great Outdoors Date

Hiking or any outdoor physical activity is excellent for couples. One Saturday afternoon, we went for a drive, ended up in Cloudland Canyon, and walked the trails. It was a great way to get outside and get sunshine and exercise. We were also discovering something completely new together. One of the more popular places you can hike in Rome is the House of Dreams on the Berry College campus. I have not been there yet, but it is on my list of things to do.

Walking Trails may be more of your speed. I know they are ours, and there are a lot of local areas with walking trails. Walking trails are a great way to spend quality time with your date. You can walk as slow or fast as you want, or you can run or bike. Rome has a lot of walking trails.

There are many local options to choose from if you want to go on a great date. With just a little planning, you can make it a great night. Relationships are hard work, and it is so important to take the time to spend quality time with each other. My husband and I could be better at finding time to go on dates, and we have to work on it constantly. Rome is a great town with many opportunities you can take advantage of.
