Rome’s first dog park opened in May 2019, and it’s already a hit with locals and visitors alike. The park has separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, as well as plenty of water bowls and benches for you to relax on.

While dining in Downtown Rome, you’ll be happy to know that all outdoor seating is pet-friendly. Many businesses, such as Green’s Jewelers, even have water bowls out for your furry friend to enjoy. Pet-friendly businesses let you know with a special sticker on their door. And if you’re looking for a place to grab a bite to eat with your dog, be sure to check out Cosmic Dog Outpost. This dog-friendly bar has a spacious patio where you and your pup can relax and enjoy a drink.
Special Events
Downtown Rome is also home to a number of dog-friendly events throughout the year. One of the most popular events is SchnauzerFest, which brings together dogs and their owners from all over the United States to celebrate all things Schnauzer.
Exercise
If you and your dog are looking for some exercise, there are plenty of walking trails in Rome that you can enjoy together. The ECO Greenway is a 13.5-mile paved trail that follows the banks of the Oostanaula River. Hi, I’m RileyandTempysworld from instagram! There is quite a few wonderful shops around here for pets as well, one of them being Backyard Boutique on Dean street! All of broad streets patios I do believe are dog friendly, One of the sweet shops on Broad Street is also pet friendly inside and outside, but the shops name eludes me today. Berry college has wonderful hiking trails, Paris Lake at Highlands is one of our favorite walking places as well. There is quite a lot of places that you can bring your beloved pet, just always remember to follow the rules, be polite, and have fun!
