The Best Fall Foliage In Northwest Georgia Is Right Here In Rome, Georgia
Of course, I’m going to mention Rome, Georgia as one of the best places to view fall foliage. There are several places to view fall foliage in Rome.
Myrtle Hill Cemetary overlooks all of downtown Rome and the three rivers. From high on top, you can see as far as your eyes will allow you, and it is spectacular for the short time when the leaves have turned!
Another great location in Rome is the Rocky Mountain Recreation and Fishing area. The colorful leaves reflecting off the lake are breathtaking. Rocky Mountain is located in Armuchee in a community called Texas Valley. The winding country roads are beautiful and great for a ride through the foliage during the fall.
Berry College Campus is another excellent location to enjoy the fall foliage in Rome, Georgia. Many people hike to the House ‘O Dreams at this time of year. The hike leads you to the top of Lavender Mountain, where the House ‘O Dreams is located. Once you reach the top, you can overlook the Berry School Property, Armuchee, and Rome.
Cloudland Canyon in Rising Fawn, Georgia
Cloudland Canyon is located in North Georgia and has beautiful views overlooking valleys. There are waterfalls and several hiking trails. The trail’s difficulty levels are labeled to make it easier for everyone to enjoy the beautiful scenery, regardless of skill level. Camping, picnic areas, and playgrounds are available if you choose not to hike and want to enjoy the stunning views.

There are cottages for rent throughout the mountains, and it is a great getaway.

John’s Mountain was named after John Fields, a Cherokee Indian who once called this area between Armuchee and LaFayette home. The summit has spectacular views year-round, and fall is incredibly gorgeous. There are hiking trails, camping, a creek, and winding back roads.
