The following post was sponsored, and When In Rome, GA received compensation. This compensation in no way affected my opinion and honest review of Courtyard Riverwalk by Marriott.
We recently had the opportunity to stay at the Courtyard Riverwalk by Marriott and experience all it offers.
First of all, when they chose the location for the Courtyard Riverwalk, they struck gold. You’ve heard it’s all about location, and they are ideally located in the heart of Rome, Georgia. It is right on the river near where the three rivers meet. You can see three of the seven hills from the back patio and an unbelievable view of downtown, including the Clock Tower. It is gorgeous.
We arrived and checked in very quickly. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in one of the Suites. There are 2 Suites available. The Suite had a king bed, a kitchenette with a refrigerator, coffee pot, and microwave. The bathroom was handicap accessible. It was very spacious and had a sofa with a pull-out bed.
The view was spectacular. If you have read some of my other posts, you will know how much I love the view of the Clock Tower. Our view was perfect.
There was a movable desk that you could arrange to accommodate your specific needs. The desk chair was ergonomic and was very comfortable for working or watching TV.
After looking over our room and enjoying the fantastic views, we went back to the lobby to explore. At the front desk, a GoBoard tells about events and happenings around the Rome area. There is also an ATM and a 24-hour Market stocked with drinks, microwaveable dinners, snacks, and essential medicines. The front desk can also provide toiletry items like a toothbrush, toothpaste, or sewing kit. If you need something, ask! Chances are that the front desk will have it. They strive to have a personal connection with each guest, making them feel like a person, not just a room number.
Across the lobby from the Front Desk is The Bistro. It is open for breakfast Monday thru Friday from 6:30-9:30, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00-10:00. Dinner hours are 5:00-10:00. For all of you coffee fans, they proudly serve Starbucks Coffee. You can get it 24 hours a day.
We ate dinner at The Bistro and had a great time chatting with the staff. We chose to sit at the bar and eat, but plenty of tables and several nooks with TVs offered a more private dining experience.
I chose the chicken pot pie with arugula salad. It was wonderful! I would go back just to get another.
My husband chose the hamburger with fries. It came with a garlic dipping sauce that was good. I had to sample his fries. He said his burger was very delicious!
The Bistro offers a Happy Hour every day of the week with $1 off Beers.
On Friday nights, The Bistro has live music and the chef grills on the back patio (weather permitting). There is ample seating, a fire pit, and the best view in Rome. You do not have to be a guest to enjoy food, drinks, and music at The Bistro.
The fire pit on the patio.
Marriott is the official hotel of the NFL. At the Courtyard Riverwalk by Marriot, you can watch your favorite team on Sundays and Mondays on one of the many TVs in The Bistro and enjoy special menu items.
TVs in the lobby and The Bistro will be tuned to various games for you to enjoy.
So did all that talk about food remind you that you need to exercise? No worries! The hotel has a 24-hour full-service gym with cardio and strength training equipment. It was very open and clean.
You also are within a few steps of 10 miles of walking trails that can be used for biking, running, or walking. The Heritage Trails are just off the back patio, and the front desk can provide you with a map and information on the trails in the area. Across the street from the Courtyard Riverwalk is Barron Stadium which has a well-lit track for walking or jogging.
Nighttime at the Courtyard Riverwalk has spectacular views of Rome. After we ate dinner and explored the gym, we took a short stroll.
Right off the back patio is the footbridge that crosses the river and leads to the Forum and Town Green. From there, it is a short stroll to Broad Street and downtown Rome, a great place to shop, eat, or experience the nightlife Rome offers.
There are several areas with benches and swings. Very romantic in the moonlight.
The Town Green is a great area to visit day or night. It is a place where you can play in the water to cool off or enjoy the view.
Here we are looking across the river from the Town Green to the back of the Courtyard Riverwalk.
We spent the rest of the evening enjoying the views and relaxing. The following day we ate breakfast at The Bistro. They had several options to choose from. The Bistro also has several healthy options. I chose the balanced breakfast sandwich, and my husband chose the bistro breakfast sandwich. They were both delicious!
After breakfast, we got a peek into a standard room with a queen bed and a pull-out sofa. The rooms were so comfortable and stylish.
Suppose you need space for a conference, meetings, class reunions, family reunions, or anything else. In that case, you can reserve space at the Courtyard Riverwalk. Each meeting space has a fantastic view of the river. The Courtyard Riverwalk has the most available space in Floyd County, except for the Forum.
I couldn’t imagine a more perfect location to stay at if you want the whole experience of Downtown Rome. The views are stunning, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the location is within walking distance of downtown Rome, Georgia. It is all you could ask for in a perfect stay in Rome, Georgia.
